There have been rumours for a while that Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo is going to release a solo album.
Last week, Le Monde Histoire tweeted that “Guy-Manuel is now preparing to release his first solo album. No date has so far been communicated.”
Rumours of a Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christro solo album first surfaced in 2014 via Tsugi Magazine – who do have a track record of just making stuff up (remember Renoma Street?) – who suggested that Guy-Manuel had been working with Charlotte Gainsbourg at his studio in the suburbs of Paris on a solo album featuring a myriad of guests.
Throw in the fact that Guy-Man and Eric Chedeville made a new Le Knight Club track for a small, independent French film last year, and the rumour does begin to make sense.
Guy-Man has, of course, produced a load of music outside of Daft Punk, helping fellow Frenchies Sebastien Tellier and Kavinsky achieve stardom with the help of his production skills.
