Danish tech-house DJ and producer Kölsch has been perfecting his techno-with-feels aesthetic for the last 5 years, in that time he’s released two albums – 2013’s highly acclaimed ‘1977’ and more recently ‘1983’ – both of which have been released by Cologne’s Kompakt Records.
Having just released his second album ‘1983’ – which sees the Dane combine swelling orchestral arrangements over gooey synths for a cohesive album that seems to allude many modern electronic artists – we grabbed 10 minutes with Kölsch to ask him 16 quick-fire questions.
Hello Kolsch, tell us your name and where you from.
My name is Rune Kölsch, and I am half Irish/half German, and born in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Who do you owe a debt of gratitude to for becoming a successful DJ and producer…?
Zig. He was friend of my moms, and he was the first person to let me roam around in his studio. He sadly passed away some years ago.
