Deadmau5 has gone on the record explaining why he thinks newly launched streaming service Tidal will benefit him, as well as other independent artists.

Speaking on his live Twitch stream the producer went into detail on his experiences with major labels, and reckons Tidal, which isn’t owned by any of the major labels, is the only independent and transparent streaming service around.

Tidal came into quite a bit of criticism since its launch last week – and while a lot of it was about the way the service was presented – we’re now getting some more detail on the benefits of the new streaming service from its owners.

Clearly, Deadmau5 has an axe to grind when it comes to majors – but he does give some interesting insight into his motivations, and why he feels that Tidal will change the music industry by leveraging control away from major labels and back to artists.
