Kitsune continue their recent spate of high quality autumnal releases with ‘Lifeline‘, the first release from Horixon, a classy disco number featuring Chicago house legend Robert Owens which is out November 4.

Horixon consists of Monarchy’s Andrew Armstrong and John Sambrooke, a London-based producer and engineer. The duo have enlisted the wonderful Robert Owens on vocals to add some soul to their already suave sounding musical back drop. This mixture of elegant production and impassioned vocals works beautifully, most notably when the piano hook kicks in after two minutes.

Remixes come from Kitsune’s own Is Tropical, and up-and-coming disco man Kiwi, who brings the song into more straight forward house territory with heavier kick drums and synths that channel Kevin Saunderson’s ‘Inner City‘. Is Tropical for their part unsurprisingly keep the track tied to their own engaging brand of tropical house.

Overall it’s a highly impressive debut, not bad for a duo who got together originally on a Wednesday night whim.
