It has undoubtedly been the year of the Dirtybird, so to continue the upward flight, label flock-leader Claude VonStroke is releasing his third full length album, ‘Urban Animal’. Released worldwide September 17, the album concept is inspired by an animalistic nature hidden within urban landscapes.

A true innovator to electronic music, Von Stroke revives the techniques heard in his previous work to create an album crafted from live recorded samples. With sound bites taken from the hustle and bustle of everyday urban settings, this full-length album looks to be another unique original from the House aficionado. You can hear previews of a couple of the tracks from the forthcoming release on the Dirtybird Soundcloud.

‘Cant Wait’ is a slow rumbling house single that conjures images of dingy afterhour clubs and warehouses. The second snippet, fittingly named, ‘The Clapping Track’ layers individually recorded claps for a dynamic spin on a standard house rhythm and bass line. His talent of taking cacophonous sound to create harmonious results is nothing short of baffling.

It is all about the grimy details in this release. While the two preview tracks offer only a small glimpse into the LP, we have no doubt that Claude Von Stroke will bring together seemingly contrasting elements to convey that primal spirit lurking in even the most urbane corners.

Urban Animal is out September 17.

New single Can’t Wait / The Clapping Track out August 5.
