Toronto’s Jeremy Gleen drops his first EP on newly formed label Smile Recordings, the original ‘PartyTime’ is an assured start harking back to the good ol’ days of house. With bulbous 808’s kicks and chirpy percussion – it manages to capture a bit of that hazey 80’s warehouse magic without ever sounding overly cynical or too one-dimensional.

The Rambla boys are on hand to inject a bit of spring into the EP with their remix – they create a throbbing groove with a grungy bassline, off-the-cuff looped vocals and a rasping synth line over the top, which seemingly brings the whole track together.

The dark horse award goes to the mysterious Safari for their menacing remix; as soon as your hear the pulsing synth hook, which combines with some cooling glacial pads, you know it’s the one.
