The Clique boys are making quite a name for themselves at the moment – purveyors of one of the best alternative dance nights in the UK they’ve recently started to take their productions a lot more seriously.
Last month we had their effortlessly smooth Pengiun prison remix, now they turn their hand to Manchester band The Kill Van Kulls and their track ‘Wooden Heart’.
If falls somewhere between and theatrical indie pop and trip hop. The intro reminded of us of the piano’s from Aim’s ‘Cold Water Music’.
Here’s what they had to say about their latest mix: “A few months ago we happened across a basement gig in Manchester by local band The Kill Van Kulls. The moment we heard ‘Wooden Heart’ we knew we had to remix it.
“A song like this doesn’t come along every day: a world-class Manchester anthem. Our aim was to make it even *bigger*, more lavish.
“We took the cinematic house sound of late 80s Inner City and combined it with the widescreen pop feel of John Barry to make something, we hope, will make your heart swell.”
Keep an eye for Clique as they will be playing at this month’s Creamfields, so make sure you check them out if you happen to be throwing some shapes in a field in Cheshire.
