Over the last 18 months we’ve had a massive resurgence of Acid – loads of producers have been dusting off their 303’s and 808’s to take you back to a time where the Acid house movement was taking over the clubs and warehouses of Manchester and the world.

Whether you like it or not it’s been a welcome return for us, one of the leading lights has been Belgium trio Avid Invaders who have been developing their unique blend of analog acid over disco claps, real pianos and snappy 808 drums.

Well, they’ve got a new EP out at the end of the month via Introduce Records – the first track is ‘Change’ which nods to the piano and acid house of the late 80’s and early 90’s – it’s a hypnotic trip down memory lane with plenty of 21st century beeps and bleeps.

‘Innovation’ treads a slightly different tack; it’s a melodic slice of upbeat Acid with a hypnotic slew of looping vocals, gurgling bass lines, which sit on a bed of sharp drums. A proper head nodder.
