We’ve often wondered what happened to that guy Tom Neviile, who used to make sweet music, well today we found out. He’s been concentrating on Retro/Grade a new collaboration with Serge Santiago, apparently this love-affair has been going since 2009 – we had no idea.

And what’s the point of this new duo? Well, it’s in the name – they want to make some retro italo disco without compromises.

Their Inspiration is taken from a period between disco and house – the grey zone where synths were first used with disco and when drum machines were used to keep a track in time.

Retro/Grade’s sound is a modern day Italo Disco……

They have a new track out called “Escape Sequence” it’s well worth picking up. Juicy synths and low-slung bass-lines – combine with a retro hook to make a lovely  Italo Disco track.
