NASA has joined Soundcloud and has uploaded a host of historic audio samples taken from a variety of famous space missions including the Apollo missons.
“You can hear the roar of a space shuttle launch or Neil Armstrong’s “one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind” every time you get a phone call, if you make our sounds your ringtone,” the space agency said.
“Or, you can hear the memorable words ‘Houston, we’ve had a problem,’ every time you make an error on your computer.”
Classic clips including “The Eagle Has Landed” and “Houston, we’ve had a problem” are also included in the newly uploaded library.
NASA has decided to banned comments – so don’t expect to see “sick bass, bro” or “cool drop” alongside the audio clips, but the Space Agency has enabled downloads, so fill your boots.
