Aufgang are an experimental French band that consists Rami Khalifé, Francesco Tristano, & Aymeric Westrich – the band released their self-titled debut album in 2009, and then the follow-up ‘Istiklaliya‘ in May of this year via French label Infine.
Formed by a chance meeting in Barcelona when Francesco was playing at an event in an art gallery in Barcelona, the trio was approached Jeff Mills and a booker for Spain’s premiere Sonar Festival. A week later after a week of non-stop rehearsing the trio delivered an explosive performance that won over the crowd of connoisseurs, and the rest is history.
Francesco Tristano is also widely regarded to be one of the most talented pianists of his generation picking sever prestigious awards and performing with the Russian National Orchestra and Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg.
Their long-time label InFiné are celebrating the band’s forthcoming fall tour with a new single including 3 new remixes of ‘Ellenroutir‘ and an unreleased track, ‘Midnight Hip Hop‘
On the remixes, Arnaud Rebotini, Anton Zap and Leem are on hand to offer a range of remixes. We’re excited to be premiering Rebotini’s remix, he offers up a brooding analog house re-work of ‘Ellenroutir’, that sees the Frenchman extract original’s temperamental melodies for a low-key club remix that goes for a less is more approach.
