Daze is the production moniker of Frenchman, well, er, we don’t actually know. Anyway in his press release there were words like ‘vintage synths’, ‘vocoders’ and ‘talk boxes’ – so naturally we had to investigate this further.

Despite not revealing his identity the Frenchman cites influences such Cameo, Zapp & Roger to D-Train, Skyy, Midnight Star and George Clinton. His latest EP ‘S.O.L.A.R’ has been made without any samples and takes in everything from gleaming electronic funk to Chromeo-esque disco-pop gems.

Basically it’s amazing, and you should probably buy it now.
