Du Tonc 'Darkness'

Du Tonc is a brand-new collaboration between Matt Van Schie (of Van She fame) and Mighty Mouse, who I’m sure we all know by now.

It’s a brave move from both, as they’re usually associated with the more energetic side of the musical spectrum, and what we have here is a pop collaboration, but not just any pop, clever european pop.

At first ‘Darkness’ it sounds a bit like an early Royksopp, but when they were fresh, youthful and full of the joys of life. There’s obviously a reflective pop song at its core trying to escape Mighty Mouse’s joyous side – but he turns what could have been an icy and reflective song into a joyous piece of disco pop.
