According to What Hi-Fi Panasonic’s newly minted Technics 1200G turntable will cost a quite ludicrous $4,000, which at current exchange rates would be £2,750.

We’re hoping What Hi-Fi has made a type because $4,000 (£2,750) is almost four times the price of the company legendary 1210s.

It could be the case that the $4,000 price point is for two decks, as What Hi-Fi states the price for the “decks”,  but still – that’s way beyond what most sane people would pay for a turntable. And if that’s for one deck, well that’s a feint-inducing price to pay.

So, if you’re planning to buy a pair of them this summer you best get saving, or begin making enquiries on how much you can get for a kidney.
