Morgan Hammer calls Barcelona home but her music arguably shares more in common with the industrial heartland of northern Europe.
She deals in grizzly Belgium-inspired new beat, EBM and electro-clash, where her weapons of choice are fuzzy analogue synths and deadpan vocals.
Whilst she’s already had releases on Headman’s Relish Recordings – it’s actually her latest release on Optimo Traxx, ‘Arrogant Bastard’, that really caught our attention.
The a-side, ‘Arrogant Bastard’, is the more club-focussed of the two; as gritty, reverberating basslines clash against twisted melodies that immediately bring to mind the halcyon days of 2007 electro-clash.
The b-side, ‘Killer Nighter’, offers something a little less intimidating, but don’t be fooled as it too is steeped in industrial intensity, as intimidating synth lines clash against Hammer’s androgynous vocals.
