A few months ago a mystery song was played on Annie Mac’s show that featured Chromeo’s Dave-1 vocals as well as a unnamed disco supergroup.

Originally credited as Disco Mystery, it turns out the song was actually a long-lost disco song from Arthur Baker who is best known for his work with Afrika Bambaataa and New Order.

Apparently Baker wrote the song in 1979 and intended to release it as a collaboration alongside Joe Bataan via London Records USA. But the label shutdown and the song was never released.

Fast forward to 2009 and Baker sent the song to MSTRKRFT’s Al-P for looping, cutting, and mixing. He then sent it onto Chromeo’s Dave-1 to add some vocals, and now we have the finished version, some 35 years later, under the name Slam Dunk’d ‘No Price’.
