Apparently we were the first blog to support French producer Neptune Safari 12 months ago. Since then the producer has gone from virtual unknown to someone who is creating some of them most enchanting French disco around.
For those of you who have been following him since day one you’ll be right at home with the EP’s opening track: ‘Morning Sun‘. It was actually the third track we featured from the producer but now it’s back, renamed and given a 2014 lick-of-paint with the inclusion of a sultry vocal courtesy of Clara La San.
Neptune Safari’s daytime aesthetic hasn’t really changed over the last 12 months, and the EP’s second track reminded us why we were so captivated by his low-key, melody-driven sound. The final original track is ‘Pyxis,’ and almost certainly the strongest song on the release as Dorian blends uplifting cosmic chords with gluey basslines and snappy percussion.
Check out the EP below and which comes with remixes from Funk LeBlanc, Edward Newgate and Rise & Fool. With the Funk LeBlanc’s effort stealing the show for us.
Look out for an interview with Neptune Safari soon.
