Next Monday everyone’s favourite French label Ed Banger Records will be put under the spotlight as part of Radio 1’s ‘Behind The Label’. The hour-long show presented by Annie Mac will explore the history of the label and will have guest spots from Pedro Winter, Mickey Moonlight, Henry Riton and many others.
Ed Banger Records is, of course, the home of numerous acts including Justice, Breakbot and SebastiAn and was setup by skateboarding aficionado and former Daft Punk manager Pedro Winter.
“Through the eyes of early signings Cassius and Krazy Baldhead, through to the most famous leather jacketed geeks in electronic music, Justice, everyone has their story to tell about the most epic boat party, the stupidest fashion trend, or how they got signed. Including anecdotes from friends of the label Erol Alkan, A-Trak and Sebastien Tellier” explains the Radio 1 website.
During the show there will be a tribute to the late, great, DJ Mehdi from his Carte Blanche partner Henry Riton, Busy P will reveal how he almost missed out on signing SebastiAn and you’ll hear from the man behind the image of the whole label, So-Me.
The show starts a 9pm, Monday October 1 on Radio 1.
