Portuguese disco producer Mirror People, aka Rui Maia, has been winning fans all over the place with releases on esteemed labels ranging from Discotexas to Gomma, including last year’s ‘Feel The Need’ (with Rowetta of Happy Mondays fame on vocals).

His latest slice of italo disco ‘Kaliedoscope’ turns the fun factor to 10 with plenty of gleaming psychedelic leads, steady drums and a dollop of bleepy madness for good measure.

On the b-side you have a remix from fellow Portuguese producer Xinobi. He strips the track back and reworks it with an eye on the club for a more thumping interpretation, and it ends up sounding like a piece of jacking disco, flanked by energetic piano stabs and rising brass. Truly sublime.
