Robortom is a new collaboration between Rob Da Bank and Tom Middleton – look at the name closer – Rob or Tom, clever except it’s both of them.
The new project has already got to work with a interesting remix, they have decided to breathe new life into Paganini’s “24th Caprice” and made it into “Paganini Rocks”. And they’ve enlisted the help of Au Revoir Simone for the vocals. We can’t tell what it’s like but one of the remixes is included in the mix bellow. Although it just sounds like some tech house to us.
In the eyes of most classical music buffs mixing classical and dance music is about the most sacrilegious thing you can do. But while Robortom’s ‘Paganini Rocks’ will undoubtedly rankle the classical world, it’s the latest in a long line of reinterpretations of Paganini’s original composition.
In addition to two radio edit versions and an extended club mix of the original, ‘Paganini Rocks’ comes with remixes from: Mighty Mouse, Louis Laroche, James Talk, and Digital Soundboy, while Rob and Tom each deliver a Sunday Best Remix and Tom’s Tech House Mix respectively.
