The Twelves are Brazil’s answer to Daft Punk – we can confirms this, as we caught the duo for the first ever DJ set in Manchester a few months ago at the dinky little club Mint Lounge, under Manchester’s trendy Northern Quarter and they were amazing.
Great mixing of classic tracks all by a guy on a rather old looking laptop using a mouse of all things and the other guy on keyboards, making drum noises – all very bizarre, probably why it sounded so great.
They’ve already done an Essential mix and came to prominence with amazing edits of classic tracks, including their own version of Air’s “Sexy Boy”, Daft Punk’s “Da Funk” to name a but a few and of course their remix of MIA’s “Boyz”.
We have a DJ set they performed in their hometown of Rio de Janeiro – now there are many mixes floating around the inter web, but we think this might be the highest quality we have found so far. And you can download for free. Shhhh just don’t tell anyone, in fact tell everyone because it’s sweet.
