Finally a Deadmau5 track we can get totally on board with. Taken from the Canadian’s seventh studio album, ‘While (1<2)’, ‘Seeya’ is about as far removed from his progressive sound as you can get.
At it’s heart it’s a modern pop song thanks in part to the vocal from Colleen D’Agostini – but there’s actually also a lot more going on.
Centred around a throbbing funk bassline – that you definitely wouldn’t expect to find on a Deadmau5 track – there’s also plenty of clever maus-y touches that you would expect to find, and then the final chip tune melody is simply the icing on the top.
