Belgium producer Mickey gives us his take on look-at-me house with his latest remix for The Popopopops’s new single ‘Cross The Line’.

The remix is pretty much as you’d expect: pitched down unnerving vocals set against plucky percussion and dub-y basslines.  What is missing, though, is a healthy dollop of melody. There are of course fleeting appearances, especially in the first chorus – but all too often the Brussels producer concentrates too much on keeping the groove low-key and just a bit too dub-y.
