There’s no doubt that Australian psychedelic indie rockers Jagwar Ma are one of the break out stars of 2013, due to their highly accomplished debut album ‘Howlin‘ and intense live shows.
To further cement this reputation they have just released the ‘Come Save Me‘ remix EP, via Marathon Artists, featuring a suitably excellent remix by Mathew Dear.
With its intensely catchy hook and psychedelic groove ‘Come Save Me‘ was always going to get earmarked for the remix treatment and Mathew Dear’s remix does not disappoint. Looping the vocal hooks into a surreal kaleidoscope, the ‘Asa Breed’ man creates a whirling dervish effect that’s intensified through the use of some well chosen hard edged distortion and lots of heavy bass.
A suitably strong remix for one of the standout tracks off one of the albums of the year.
Jagwar Ma’s debut album ‘Howlin’ is out now.
