Whenever an artist dedicates a large part of their adult life on a particular project its only natural after a while they will want to explore something new, fresh and exciting.

That’s exactly what Knightfall is, it’s a passion project of Gerard Sidhu & Stephen Docker from Strange Talk.

After working on nothing but Strange Talk for the last 7 years, the duo decided to take a break from the indie pop of Strange Talk to focus on their other love — French electro house.

Inspired by the likes of Daft Punk, Justice, Sebastian and Kavinsky, they decided to produce the music they connected with the most.

“We just wanted to write the music we love, the way we wanted to write it and we really didn’t care what anyone else thought,” explains the duo.

Interestingly, a lot of the music was actually earmarked for new Strange Talk material but they decided it wouldn’t really fit within the tight confines of Strange Talk’s indie-ish aesthetic, so — they created Knightfall.

After dropping two singles earlier this year, ‘Speed Machine’ and ‘Exodus,’ Knightfall are back with ‘Watching Me’, which we’ve got the premiere of, and it sees the talented duo exploring the darker edges of house and French-electro — and they do it in a way that’s really fresh and exciting thanks to the clever pop DNA that runs throughout the track thanks to the vocals that are as catchy as velcro.

More of this, please.

Out September 8.
