French electronic heavyweights Gesaffelstein and Jean-Michel Jarre combine for a grizzly slice of futuristic techno, ‘Conquistador’.

“I wanted to work with the people of his generation,” says Jean-Michel. “His music has this instantly recognizable sound. It’s quite dark, quite mystic.”

‘Conquisator’ is the first piece of music from Jarre in 8 years and is thought to feature on his as-yet unnamed new album.

“Jean-Michel Jarre’s music is part of every household,” says Gesaffelstein. “A classic of electronic music. When I started making music, I looked towards the pioneers of electronic music so obviously I came across Jean-Michel. He is a part of my influences.”

The release comes as one original, and two remixes from Jarre. Fans of Gesa’s remix of Phoenix’s ‘Bankgrupt’ will enjoy some of the synths involved in ‘Conquistador’, which sound like they’ve been lifted straight from the end of his remix. Whilst, Jarre goes for a more conventional take on the original with his two remixes.
