Here’s the video for ‘Splitting the Atom’ by Massive Attack.

It’s the first of eight new music videos the band have asked Future Shorts to make from their ‘Heliogoland’ album.

London Underground have hit the headlines again for all the wrong reasons by censoring posters advertising Massive Attack’s new album Heligoland.

This the first time that the PC Bridgade has banned poster from appearing down under – they banned Ministry of Sounds NYE poster in December because it encouraged graffiti.

Massive Attack’s Robert ‘3D’ Del Naja, who had to redesign his artwork for stations, said: “They won’t allow anything on the Tube that looks like street art. They want us to remove all drips and fuzz. It’s the most absurd censorship I’ve ever seen.”

Massive Attack courted a shed-load of publicity with the video for Paradise Circus (see here) and now they have handed over remix duties to Brazilian Legend Gui Boratto.

Gui Boratto has infuse a dance-floor edge to what was a rather timid affair; he’s added some much needed dark throbbing beats, and it works really well with Hope Sandoval’s sultry voice. It reminds me of Trentemollers’ forest techno.

Where not going to review their new album, we’ve listened to it and it’s not the best – a bad review doesn’t do anyone any favours.

But we do like this a lot.

With their new album ‘Heligoland’ coming out in a couple of months Massive Attack have just previewed their new single ‘Circus Paradis’ featuring porn your parents might watch, a sweet old lady and sultry vocals from Hope Sandoval. It’s all rather bizarre.

With a scene reminiscent of Titanic, a porn documentary insues with a little granny spilling the beans about here sexual encounters as a porn star.

Their is a song in there somewhere, but with scenes of a snake and a female lady garden it’s hard to concentrate – so Massive Attack have certainly created something controversial, but it is any good?
