Light & Dark REMIXED’ is, as the name suggests, a collection of remixes and fresh club mixes from Lee Coombs’ acclaimed 2009 album ‘Light & Dark’.

Unfortunately it does have some guy ranting at the beginning, actually that could be Lee himself. Hi Lee!. It does sound good though, so we kind of forgive him. Maybe.

On remix duties we have a whole host of big names including – Zodiac Cartel, Meat Katie, Maelstrom, Rogue Element, atomic Drop, Neurodriver, Trent Cantrelle, Acces Denied, 10 Rapid, Dopamine, The Omega Men, Burufunk, The Dolphins, Les Architects. Phew thanks god that’s over.

So there a lot of names there. some you may know, some you may not. Especially the dolphins – I was led to believe they don’t make music. Never remember Flipper working Logic.

We have a podcast for you featuring, we presume, all the remixes strung together to make a mix. Of course with the guy talking a bit.

It’s very good though. But Lee you don’t need to spell your name all the time. We’re not all idiots.

Lee Coombs Light & Dark remixed

Straight of the back of his epic mix from Dylan Rhymes, Fussy Boy returns with his synth laden tech-stomper “Jonni”.

Starting off with a tech groove Fussy unleashes the synths to create a trademark sound that can only be Fussy Boy.

On the flip side – Robosapiens (one of the best names I have heard ) step up for the remix and put their own Techo re-rub on the lead track; darker rolling bass perpetuates and the melody slowly builds into something more relentless. This track is pure late night filth – Lot49 at their best.

He’s already gaining support from Boys Noise and Mstrkrt and this track is set to be caned throughout clubland for the foreseeable future.

Thanks to our friends over the pound at Pressure Media we can give you an exclusive listen of Meat Katie’s latest EP The Tension coming via Lot49

Starting off are Italian tech-heads Presslaboys, with their great remix of “Needles & Pins” just the sort of tech-house sound that has seen the Italian scene going from strength to strength. Fellow countryman Flavio Diaz, who produces a swinging house remix of “Lucia”.

We then head north to Scandinavia where one of Sweden’s finest Tony Senghore delivers a experimental and unique piece of electro funk with his take on the title track “Tension”.

Then it we move onto the real Techo assault with all three remixers decapitating “Lucia” into varying styles of Techno; starting with up and coming Hungarian producer Jade, who gives it a real techno work-out; heads down and bass-heavy grooves will insue. While Belgium’s Tom Hades, opts for a late night builder.

For the final two remixes the pace is further lifted; Montreal’s Mateo Murphy delivers an intense big-room groove sure to feature in many DJ’s sets.

Last but not least are hotly tipped Tech-breaks pioneers Vent who re-rub “Lucia” into a new frontier.
