Listen out for the Breakbot remix of Aeroplane’s “Without Lies” and Villa’s remix of the new Digitalism track “Blitz”. They could be massive.

Vito recently tweeted that he was in the process of remixing fellow high flying artist and general naughty man George Michael, and the track in question can be revealed as Faith, he’s done a fine job indeed. We’re sure that George is getting high to it as we speak.

So, there has been abit of a backlash to the new Aeroplane album on the Evil Erol Alkan forum and ilxor, which we thought was RAD, in fact super-Rad, and we’ve come across news of the second single “Superstar” will be released on 13 September.

“Superstar” for us,  is Aeroplane’s version of Mylo’s “Drop the pressure” – why? I hear you grumble. Because, both feature vocoder-vocals from the artist himself. Hmmm who else does this? Vitalic and Yuksek. Both of them like the sound of their voice. It comes with a couple of excellent remixes as well as the original.

There’s a b-side version with Chromeo singing the vocals, listen below, obviously a they like each other as Chromeo has just had his track “Don’t Turn The Lights Out” remixed by Vito and he came up trumps.

Last but not least, they have got new duo The Kray’s, which of course is Yuksek and Brodinski, and we should be all familiar with by now.

And on the stupid backlash to the album, because it’s not like their remixes, TMS got it perfectly “it’s madness. It’s like they went into listening to it trying to find ‘that paris track’ and then cried when it wasn’t there.

After the rather bizarre split of Aeroplane a couple of months ago, Vito De luca is flying solo now, the split was amicable and has seen Stephan create a new disco moniker the Magician. So all is good. Now that Aeroplane are one, they are about to release probably the most anticipated album of 2010 so far. The aptly named “We Can’t Fly” finally sees its release on 27 September on Wall of Sound.

Recorded in all four corners of the world including Toulouse, Paris, London and Los Angeles it was co-produced by Bertrand Burgalat and is one the finest debut albums of 2010. It can sit along side the greats like, Destroy Rock n Roll, Homework, Moon Safari and a shed-load of others.

It’s grown up, dazzling, sonically prefect, and showcases not just a passion for stately, soulful disco and early 80s electronica, but a lush and bittersweet set of influences that stretch from Abba and film soundtracks to Floyd, the Stones and Italian crooners. This melting pot provides the backdrop to Aeroplane’s 21st century take on balearic house.

The classically trained Vito opens the album with the highly accomplished “We Can’t Fly”, which is a languid, show stopping anthem-to-be, and will surely capture the mind of anyone who has heard it. A perfect start to album in every sense.

The Kraftwerkian intro to “Mountains of Moscow” combine perfectly with the dramatic piano solo to give the track a presence and drama rarely seen in todays over bearing four-on-the-floor world of dance music.

Early favourite “Superstar” gets you in the mood to dance – it’s inspired by the Giorgio Morder, whose gleaming electronic scores were made famous by Scarface and Midnight Express. Vito describes it as “Moroder meets Canned Heat”. And Superstar features vocoder vocals from Vito himself, Moroder was so impressed that he has already laid down the vocals for an alternative version of the track, which will be released later in the year. Cannot wait.

Moroder wasn’t the only hero of Vito’s to feature – Merry Clayton lends here formidable vocal-talents to make a rare piece of soulful disco pop in the shape of “I Don’t Feel” with more than a wiff of 80’s Tina Turner, which is emotional and exciting in equal measure and is a truly inspiring piece of music.

The finest song on the album and for us, and one that shows you what Aeroplane can do when it comes down to more dance-floor centric disco, is “My Enemy” – the rolling beats and overly dramatic violins – create a track that takes your breath away and is quickly becoming our favorite track of the album.

The roster of guest singers is impeccable. Nicolas Ker, the frontman of French italo-disco outfit Poni Hoax, adds a sullen elan to “Fish in the Sky”, an electro torch song worthy of Human League, while dream-pop outfit Au Revoir Simone breathe delicate harmonies over the woozy ballad “We Fall Over”, and London’s Jonathan Jeremiah transforms “Good Riddance” into a low-slung slice of honky-tonk soul.

We can’t come up with enough superlatives for this album; rarely does an album exceed and beat into submission the hype surrounding it. But Aeroplane has done just this. We Can’t Fly, promises to take Aeroplane’s passengers on a first class, round-trip of electronic psychedelia.

Aeroplane’s Vito De Luca, promised a special track today as a thank you to their 10,000 Facebooks fans and anyone else who has paid attention over the 12-months.

And they have decided to give away their version of a remix of Friendly Fires, Paris, which they have re-named “I Crave Paris”.

Aeroplane’s meteoric rise ove the last 12-months can be put down to a number of things; their amazing monthly mix tapes, their conquering of the blogoshpere and finally their remixes and productions.

With a name like Aeroplane and a debut single and album called, We Can’t Fly, they quite clearly don’t take themselves to seriously.

The nu-disco duo hit the headlines 2-weeks ago, when they announced that they would be going there separate ways and Vito would carry on the name.

So their first single from the album is ready and will be released through Wall of Sound and Eskimo records – and it captures the Ibizan summer groove perfectly, giving us a taste of what to expect from the full LP and from what we have heard it is shaping up to be the album of the year.

Squelching bass, choir-esque chorus and playful percussion makes for a fantastic sounding debut single and all topped with the usual disco inspired synths. It’s a magic piece of inspired cosmic reggae.

Aeroplane seem to have the golden touch as their debut single is every bit as good as any of their mixes, remixes or special gems that they select for their amazing DJ shows.

So after the shock news last week that Stephen Fasano was to leave Aeroplane, it looks like it is back to business as Vito has just sent their June Mix over and it’s as we expected – brilliant.

Breaking news is coming in that the dynamic dance duo, Aeroplane, are set to go there separate ways – here is what they had to say on their Facebook page.

Hi everybody, It has been nearly 3 years since Stephen and I released our first 12″ on Eskimo. Nearly 3 years since we’ve been doing remixes and touring the world as DJ’s with some success. And for nearly three years we have been enjoying every second of it. Maybe you don’t know this, but Stephen and I have been working together for more than 7 years now. 7 years of good and bad times. 7 years of creating different projects, exploring different directions. Today, we are more excited and passionate than ever about creating new music. Except that since the last months Stephen’s vision and mine were going different ways. That is the reason why we decided that one of us should leave Aeroplane. Not to destroy it, but to make it last. Discussions were intense, and emotional, but Stephen is leaving me in charge of our baby. I will be, from now on, the one and only member of Aeroplane. Why me? Just because recently, I’ve been responsible for most of the music and the studio work. Aeroplane became more mine than his. There is no angriness here, no conflicts to come, just a mature decision to save what we’ve been building together and that both of us do not want to see disappear. Stephen is already working on new projects which you’ll be aware off very soon. Let’s wish Stephen all the luck in the world even though he doesn’t need luck, because he has got talent. He will be back with amazing stuff, trust me, I know him very well. Vito
