We imagine Belgium to be a lot like England, except instead of lamp shades, they have disco balls, and they wear terrible Christmas knit-wear all year round. We’d like to go to Belgium, but we wouldn’t want to spoil our utopian ideal. So we’ll just imagine it as a magical disco ball in Europe, where they eat Belgian waffles and drink strawberry beer.

Whenever we go onto Mustang’s soundcloud were always greeted with some sweet space-aged disco and today is no different, Mustang are quite a big deal – while Vito and Aeroplane have been stealing all the limelight (quite right too) they have remained criminally under the radar – yet they still keep banging out the tunes and are sure to be another big Belgium export.

We start with a trippy re-edit of Wild Boys by Duran Duran – it builds throughout culminating in sweet break and then its goes a bit Soulwax – well they’re both from Belgium.

We’ve totally neglected our Belgium friends Mustang who have been on top form with some stellar remix work for HBF favourite Vitalic, Morcheeba, they have done a EP too Chamelon.

So we are about to remedy this as they deserve some love. Comprising of Renaud aud Deru (Cozzy Mozzy) and Andy Faisca the are residents at Libertine Supersport, a club Erol Alkan said was one of the best in Europe.  And one of them is a member of Fouck Brothers – if our vague memory is correct.

They are every bit as good as Aeroplane and Might Mouse. Make sure you grab some mixes from their Soundcloud – well that what it’s there for – right?

Aeroplane exploded on the scene in August 2009 with their first monthly mix and 6 mixes later they are still taking the blogs and clubs by storm with their take on indie-disco.

And with a album reportedly dropping early 2010 things are looking rosey for Vito De Luca & Stefan Fassano.

We have their new January mix recorded in the home of neutrality Brussels.

Mustang are tipped to be the next big thing from the same country that gave us the fantastic Compuphonic, Soulwax, Aeroplane, MVSC the list goes on and on – Belgium of course.

Hailing from Brussels and comprising of Renaud aud Deru who is one of Belgium’s hottest talents, he has spent the last 7 years as the energetic Cosy Mozzy and now throwing all of his energy into Mustang.

His partner in crime is Andy Faisca the son of talented guitarist, he begun to collect hardware synthesizers when he was just 13 years old – now 10 years on these machines make the main parts of their songs

So we know that they posses the right genes to make great music and it comes in the form of nu-disco of the Italian variety.

With slow deep melodic percussion layered with disco-synths – it’s just what we need for the cold harsh winters.
