Pangea: the worst student-led night ever ?
HBF went to the biggest student led music and art festival in Europe, Pangea, to see Etienne De Crecy this weekend and we were left with a bitter taste in our mouth; as main act Etienne De Crecy had to cancel at the last minute.
Etienne De Crecy was forced to cancel his much anticipated Cubes and Beats show at the last minute due to restrictions at the venue and even held back his £5,000 fee and did not play.
Etienne De Crecy apologised to his fans via his twitter account “Due to venue technical issues, beyond the artist’s control, we are forced to cancel the Manchester show at the Pangea festival tonight.
“We apologise for every fan who showed up at the doors tonight.”
As we walked around the other venues and checked some of the other acts out we were amazed to find that Pangea was one of the most poorly implemented mini festivals we have ever been to.
Called me a cynic, but sweaty class rooms and tissue paper decorations is not what I call a decent clubbing experience.
The venues were dressed in art work that looked like it was made by Steven Hawkins, and as we walked around it felt like we were in our own arts and craft nightmare; it looked positively awful.
We tried to get our money back and were told politely to “Fuck off”, so we left early vowing never to go to Pangea ever again.
We worry about the state of University students – if this is the best that they could come up with.
