We featured newcomer Little Loud, a few weeks ago and we were more than seduced by his melodic, disco beats – he’s obviously young, naive and happy and this comes across in his latest remix of the fantastic “Believer” by Goldfrapp. His sound sits somewhere between Mylo, Air and Royksopp. Perfect synth pop for the summer months. We’ve arranged for him to make us a mixtape soon, so keep your eye’s peeled.

He’s also completed a slew of remixes for other happy people including Memory Tapes, Au Revoir Simeone and HEALTH.

Kitsune are fine form recently, it would seem everything they touch turns to gold, Beataucue, Florrie, Two Door Cinema Club, Delphic, Play Paul having all featured in the blogosphere. La Vie Moderne” EP out August 30 on Kitsuné Maison

SMD are about to return with a new compilation made especially for their new residency at Fixed in New York.

FIXED launched many moons ago in 2004 by DJ’s JDH and Dave P at the Tribeca Grand hotel – it has been massive hit for the city’s somewhat starved club scene.

SMD aren’t the first UK act to take a proper a residency in New York,  Welsh boy Sasha reinvigorated their scene a few years ago when he first started his ableton mixing.

Jas Staw from SMD told us: “The mix we have done for Fixed is based on how we hope our residency with them in New York will pan out.

“Fixed has always been a forum for the deeper and odder end of disco and techno, but without forgetting that it’s still a party.

“We mixed this live in our studio, allowing us to throw some extra effects in there and also a bit of the 808 fromtime to time.”

We have a rather splendid free track to giveaway from the odd-ball duo, called Nerve Salad.

It’s a piece of schizophrenic techno – and sounds like it was conceived in the mind of a person who is very weird – think Sven Vath mixed with stabs of A Clockwork Orange. Very strange indeed. Classic SMD then.

Electro stomper Ren Riz has just sent over his first EP and be prepared to have your head cleared of all comb-webs; as this is a stomper.

Hailing from the world down-under Ren Riz is a producer from Melbourne, Australia. He has been making beats for 10 years, but after to Paris, he was infected with serious disease. Which has see him make music that combines spaced-out disco with hard-hitting French electro.

His debut has a penchant for Justice and Danger and is full-fat dance cut with huge slab beats, brutal strings, and wailing synths.  He’s courted the help of Beaumont, Flashworx and Flacker for remix duties.

His debut will be hitting digital stores June 27th and with some excellent remixes there’s sure to be cut that takes your fancy.

To celebrate the fact he has given the F.O.O.L remix for us to give away and it’s in full 320 banging quality.

Yuksek is just about to finish the his ‘Away From The Sea’ tour and has decided to create a mix that chronicles all the things that happened to him over the last couple of years.

The mix only features tracks that the young parisian has remixed and some remixes of his own tracks. So expect to hear tracks from Pheonix, Gossip, Lady Gaga, Chromeo and many more.

He said: ” I have been working on this project for a while, but it is different, at least to me: it’s my own Yuksek mix, no one asked for it, no one is expecting it.

He added: “I started with remixes I did in the 3 last years, and added to the remixes with other artists and friends, it  became more than just a mix, it’s the expression of what I’ve been living in for some years.”

Yuksek’s debut was one of our favourite albums last year and we suggest that you buy a copy because it is amazing.

Being the main man for A&R at Great Stuff Records, Rainer Weichhold, knows a thing or two about music; Rainer has guided the creative direction of Great Stuff for many years and is one of the most astute music gurus in Berlin.

After a 2 year hiatus, Rainer Weichhold returned to dance music in late 2009 with his with amazing Flashmobbing EP, with a little help from fellow Berliners Juan Sanchez and Kaiserdisco, it charted all over Europe and has been gaining praise from all four corners of the world.

We got in contact with Great Stuff to see if he would produce a mix for our Podcast series; he said yes, and he hasn’t let us down with an amazing hour mix that showcases the talents of Great Stuff and Berlin in general.

Bomb the Bass will release their latest album this month and it’s called “Back to the light” and it has been produced in conjuction with Brazilian star Gui Boratto.

The relative speed in which this new album has been created (twelve months, compared to the fourteen-year gestation of Future Chaos) suggests that Simenon’s return to Bomb the Bass is permanent one.

We have the second single called “Up The Mountain” remixed by Gui Boratto.

Hybrid are giving away for free the impressive ‘Break Your Soul’ track from their new debut album Disappear Here – it’s the usual blend of high-end cinematic sci-fi breaks. We love it.

Baby I’m Yours is Breakbot’s long-awaited debut EP and it follows his fantastic remix of Air’s So light Is Your Football.

His style oozes character and soul – a far cry from the over-bearing drums and high flying technology that is now becoming the norm.

It’s not the usual sound we would expect from Ed Banger, but it has a cheerful charm to it.

One of the reason why Delphic’s debut received such high priase was because of the sheer number of releasable tracks within it – and Halycon is the next song to get a release.

We have the bizarre, but equally good dub step/grime/indie (if it’s not, were not sure then) remix from the fairly unknown L-Vis 1990.

Also, listen out for the most overly dramatic pauses we have heard in a while (thought we had lost power for a second).

It’s possibly the work of a 20-year-old judging by the name. Certainly from London, probably East.

Delphic – Halcyon (L-Vis 1990 Remix)

Hot Chips’s latest album was released a couple of weeks ago and it went down like a lead balloon – we had a listen and read a few reviews and it really was a poor performance.

One review from the BBC said:”Of the ten tracks on this fourth album, five should have been left out on a Monday morning with the bins.” He added:”We once thought Hot Chip could walk on water – but half of the songs on this album sound like a band treading it instead.”

Thankfully Hot Chip has decided to do one thing right and enlisted the help of Joris Voorn for remixing duties,  Joris impressed many last year with his highly impressive residency at Ibiza’s Space.

Called One Life Stand, Joris has added a much needed deep house groove and it sounds fairly similar to his massive hit Chase The Mouse; deep house at its very best then.

We don’t know, like or have a clue who the New Young Pony Club are, but we do like Dekker & Johan. Dekker & Johan had a great 2009 with their massive remix of The Hour’s ‘Can You See The Light’

They have just dropped their remix for the new NYPC single, and it’s called Chaos.

Booka Shade have just announced that their much anticipted new album will be out in May and the first single called ‘Bad Love’ will be out on April 19th.

Arno and Walter will doing their first ever full UK tour which will see them promoting the album across many UK cities.

“The album is called More!. More refined production, more multi-layered atmospheres, more emotion.” Explains Arno Kammermeier. “We wanted this album to be more energetic with strong grooves and of course the typical Booka Shade melodies and atmospheres that we love. The album takes you through every stage of the night out; the excitement before you go out, the party, the late, late night, a bit of paranoia…. and then the sunny morning of a new day.”

“We’re so excited about 2010 and taking the new album on the road. We’ve been working on these songs in the studio for the last 18 months and now is the time to hear them loud!” Arno continues, “The world tour will start in February with us headlining the Future Music Festival in Australia, followed by club shows in key cities throughout Europe and a short trip to the U.S. to introduce the album Stateside. I can safely say we have a big summer of festivals in front of us too!”. Indeed they do, with the full live schedule to be announced very soon, including (for the first time ever) a fully live UK tour, taking in all the major cities across the country.

The Gorillaz are about to release their latest single, Stylo, it hasn’t caught our imagination quite like their previous work, but it is early days; the Gorillaz have a habit of making music that gradually seeps into your mind through the process of osmosis and then won’t leave.

There are a few remixes that are floating around around the blogoshpere, many have burned-up during re-entry. Alex Metric’s effort has been rejected for some unknown reason, it’s probably his best remix and deserves a release. So if your listening or reading Mr & Mrs AR you have been told. One remix that did get the go ahead was Yuksek’s, and he has given it away on his blog this morning.

The Stylo video debuts Feb 27th – should be the usual blend of CGI and cartoons.

You may have come across Peugeot’s new television advert (if not see below) it features a great track from young Parisian Yuksek called ‘Tonight’.

Yuksek produced one of the best debut albums of 2009, Away From The Sea, and wowed audiences across the world with his amazing live performances at I Love Techno and the Kitsune Maision Tour.

Yuksek is following in the footsteps of Jacques Lu Cont and Tocadisco, who both featured in a Citroen advert that featured a dancing robotic car.

We have the Kris Menace remix which is fab.

Compuphonic had a great 2009 with the creation of his own label, Union Match, and a string of underground successes alongside good friends Spirit Catcher and Kolombo.

And now he has found time to make some new music and it’s a uber-cool deep house number called Sequoia – featuring his usual blend of catchy percussion and deep melodies.

Anders Trentemoller has just announced that his much anticipated new album will be out in May and the first single coming out in early April.

Trentemoller is a pioneer of dance music and his last album “The Last Resort” was voted album of the year by many people in the know.

The first single, Sycamore Feeling, will be released in April, and you will be glad to know that his amazing live band will return.
