Housse de Racket have a CD out, called Forty Love, it comes with an album and a remixes album too. They play stadium music in small rooms apparently.

Already a beloved hit in their native France, ‘Forty Love’ prepared for its British unleashing with the release of the single ‘Oh Yeah!’, which came backed up with a heady collection of knockout remixes from the likes of Chilly Gonzales, Keenhouse, Tonka and Walter Sobcek.

Further album highlights include ‘1-2-3-4’, ‘Gwendoline’ and ‘Synthétiseur’, which was released in 2009 on leading tastemaker label, 50 Bones, to an air of fevered expectancy.  In addition, Forty Love will include an exclusive remix album with exhilarating offerings from Van She, Edwin Van Cleef, Beaumont and many more besides.

We’re warming to dubstep and its many guises more and more at HBF Towers, and continuing with this love affair we came across 21-year-old producer James Jacob aka Jakwob, who has been gaining quite a lot of attention recently. The Guardian awarded him their coveted “Band of the day” and said he was the “go-to guy for dubstep”.

Sorry for the radio silence HBF peeps, been in Berlin for work, but to make up for it we have a fantastic giveaway from filth-maestro Dark Nite. We featured him last week and were blown away by his glitchy, dubby take on electro. Well. we have been given permission to unload his filth for free in 320 dirt-riddled glory.

From Leicester Dark Nite’s sound straddles the harder side of electro. So more SebastiAn than Breakbot. We love it and you should grab this track as it is a belter.

Blak Nite is someone you should keep an eye out for, from Leicester, he’s the purveyor of some almighty production skills, his sound is very much from the SebastiAn school of hard electro – with stabs of Dubstep grime layered throughout. Throw in some jittering beats. And it has sebastiAn all over. But dare I say it ? Better. Maybe.

We don’t know much about him, but has he produced a rather glum looking video as a teaser with the Film Collective. Which just so happens to be a perfect match for his sound.

Hyde by Blak Nite

We’ve just listened to his EP and is bloody brilliant – perfect sound for a dirty warehouse setting. Quite often we get “Bangerz” , but they lack a certain something – noises brought together, without much planning or thought. Blak Nite doesn’t suffer from this “anything goes mentality”. Yes it’s messy, glitchy, and intense. But it all comes together in such an impressive way – you can’t help but be blown away.

This is a prime example and it’s a remix too. And you can download it for free.

The EP is going to be out in October – and you should probably buy it as you don’t often get music that breaks so many rules as Blak Nite.

We think that SebastiAn might need to watch out as the Blak Nite has been let loose.

Next up we have “No Respect”, and it has some crazy synths (sounds like something out of War of the Worlds) minus Tom Cruise. This takes it to the next level. Were tipping Blak Nite to a big player over the next year he quite clearly has the talent. It’s just seeping out of this EP, from every orifice.

What ? Another one. Yes. We have another remix of Gold Frapp’s “Believer”, we were going to do just the one post, but as their from two fantastic artists in their own right so they deserve it.

This time it’s Space’s residente Joris Voorn, who has been let loose on Believer and he’s done a fine job indeed. In fact we’re yet to hear a track that Joris has had a hand in that hasn’t been amazing.

Stripped-back Deep House, with a sweet bass line. Joris hasn’t strayed from his normal winning formula. And quite right too.

We featured newcomer Little Loud, a few weeks ago and we were more than seduced by his melodic, disco beats – he’s obviously young, naive and happy and this comes across in his latest remix of the fantastic “Believer” by Goldfrapp. His sound sits somewhere between Mylo, Air and Royksopp. Perfect synth pop for the summer months. We’ve arranged for him to make us a mixtape soon, so keep your eye’s peeled.

He’s also completed a slew of remixes for other happy people including Memory Tapes, Au Revoir Simeone and HEALTH.

So, there has been abit of a backlash to the new Aeroplane album on the Evil Erol Alkan forum and ilxor, which we thought was RAD, in fact super-Rad, and we’ve come across news of the second single “Superstar” will be released on 13 September.

“Superstar” for us,  is Aeroplane’s version of Mylo’s “Drop the pressure” – why? I hear you grumble. Because, both feature vocoder-vocals from the artist himself. Hmmm who else does this? Vitalic and Yuksek. Both of them like the sound of their voice. It comes with a couple of excellent remixes as well as the original.

There’s a b-side version with Chromeo singing the vocals, listen below, obviously a they like each other as Chromeo has just had his track “Don’t Turn The Lights Out” remixed by Vito and he came up trumps.

Last but not least, they have got new duo The Kray’s, which of course is Yuksek and Brodinski, and we should be all familiar with by now.

And on the stupid backlash to the album, because it’s not like their remixes, TMS got it perfectly “it’s madness. It’s like they went into listening to it trying to find ‘that paris track’ and then cried when it wasn’t there.

Cassette Jam is duo that you’re going to hear about a lot, well those in know have already sampled the delights of their trashy rave at the Warehouseproject. But those of you from further a field might not have heard of them. They’re definitely worth checking out. If you into the big room rave formula – like Front 242, Soul Wax, and Justice then your gonna love Cassette Jam.

Well, now their ready to hit the big time with their new self titled album Casette Jam, their PR peeps have just sent over the remix of one of their tracks and it’s been mixed by, Filthy Dukes’ Mark Ralph, who is a Kraftwerk obsessive – they even went as far as buying the mixing desk that Conrad Black which was used to make “Autobahn” – these tracks are a real blood descendent of Kraftwerk. And if you haven’t heard of Kraftwerk you may want to just leave now. Go on get your coat.

This magic mixing desk seems to have come up trumps with the two latest singles sounding very good indeed. I’ll pipe down and let let you decide.

“Speed of Light” features Lego Johnson and is fine bit of warm sounding trashy electro. Well worth clicking the download button.

For the recording of the album, which they have been given ample studio time to satisfy their synth addiction, Cassette Jam got their hands on the Korg MS20, Moog Voyager, Roland SH101 and the Juno 60 to name but a few. They also mixed the whole thing on German maestro Conny Plank’s old mixing desk

These guys are obviously confident duo and are even giving away the tracks on their Soundcloud, so do them a favour and get the album which is out very soon as the launch party is next week at Big Chill.

Cassette Jam have applied the stadium ethics of the Prodigy, Underworld, and past British greats, and created an electrifying rave-up worthy of a new decade – young, raw and as noisy as it should be.

We will try and get a review of Casette Jam in the near future, but there might not be much point as there is already so much here to listen to and love.
