The whole EP is chock full of ideas, sketches, throw away vocals, and jumpy drums – which, on the whole, do captivate you, but also weird you out.

Any hope that the remixes rationalise the left-field juxtapositions, and try and distill some of them into more manageable tracks doesn’t really happen as much as we’d like.

All the remixes seem to get sucked into Punks Jumps Up slightly odd world. Fare Soldi give their weirdest performance yet – and show they’re far from a one-trick pony. Deadstock 33′s probably steal the show – with a strung out, head-down warehouse stomper and Gopher just goes for a bit of mindless intensity.

The EP is far from perfect, and shows Punks Jump Up might still have some growing up to do musically – it just needs to be reined in a bit.

M.I.A said about the video: ‘It was dope to have so many people from so many different backgrounds speaking so many different languages come together to create something that we believed in,” says M.I.A about the video. “I thought I was gonna die on the shoot when I saw the drifting. It was a four day shoot so everyone was on edge the whole time specifically ME when I had to do bluesteel singing to the camera while the cars did doughnuts on the wet road ten feet away. In my mind I was thinking how I was gonna deliver the video to Vice with no legs.”

DiscoDemons said about the remix: “I have always loved this song but found it hard to play it out in the clubs due to its tempo

“So here’s an edit of it for you all to hammer out in your DJ sets! I’ve pushed the tempo a bit, rearranged parts of the original to create more build-ups, added extra drums and fx, a new bassline plus a completely new synth hookline, and generally fattened it up a bit for the club”.

This remix sounds a lot like Danger – but not just a cheesy ripoff – it’s like a tug-of-war between the sounds of Skrilly and Danger – with neither winning. It’s one-part theatrical electro, one-part dumb-step and two-parts drum and bass. No one wins the tug-of-war except Parisian Bestrack & Digikid84.

Orbital have now confirmed their headline UK festival appearances this Summer.

Taking in The Beat Herder in June, Bloc and The Secret Garden Party in July and Bestival in September, Orbital are gearing up for some very special Summer gigs.

They are currently recording their follow up album, which will be released sometime in 2012. The brussels-based band have enlisted Joakim Bouaziz, who has had releases under his producer name Joakim on his own imprint Tigersushi as well as remixes for artists such as Air, Tiga, Dj Mehdi, Metronomy, Royksopp amongst others, to produce the album.

They’ve moved to a new label Kiez Beats, but their sound still remains the same – thankfully the quality of production hasn’t dipped since Seba jumped ship either. It’s still full of big happy synths, snappy drums and vocals that wouldn’t sound out of place on a Salt ‘N Pepper record. The only original is a heady cocktail to Japanese-esque pop and Rex The Dog 80′s synth pop.

Remixes come from a wealth of different talent – first up we have Cosmonaut’s who do what you’d expect. Slow it down to a disco plod, strip it out and rebuild it for a Belgium disco. Other notable remixes come from Kreap – who turns it into a French house number – it’s fun and adds a unique twist to the vocals. Pharoa Black Magic turns ‘All My Fridge’ into a meandering synth pop number by taking out all the aggressive drums and percussion to make a remix that is as enchanting as it is serene.

The dark horse awards goes to both Softwar and Stubbs. Softwar takes the original into the realm of a slow 90′s house vogue. Stubbs goes the other way and produces a deep, languid cut – full of swirling synths, big builds, and plenty of white noise.

‘All In My Fridge’ is good second EP from the Belgium trio – the vocals are unique, the production is tip top and the remixes are good enough to get into a wide-range of acts’ CD wallets.

He doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but does make a stellar straight-up electro track out of the rousing vocals. Each time we hear something new from Pyramid he shows us he’s always improving – whether he can keep it up remains to be seen, but it’s going to be fun finding out.

‘Reload’, his first track, was a pure Les Rhythmes head-fuck – this on the other hand  is a pure JLC – it shows off his more organic side, which manifest its self as quite unbelievable twanging bassline – which then proceeds to bound around the mix like a small child high on sugar.
