Jamiroquai’s latest disco single, ‘Cloud 9’, has been remixed by the legendary remixer Fred Falke and new kid on the block Purple Disco Machine.

Fred Falke delivers an assured remix that transposes the original’s cushion-soft vocals with chatty guitars and swashbuckling chord progressions for an overly preened remix, that’s not actually a million miles away from original.

Purple Disco Machine, on the other hand, fashions a remix that’s a little more straight edged — it’s a still disco remix but it’s a lot more rhythmic thanks to sturdier kicks and plenty of micro disco percussion.

For our money, PDM’s is the one you’re more likely to hear in the club whilst Falke’s is more of a guilty pleasure.
