Dan McKie’s ‘Wobblegong’ has Ibiza anthem written all over it

Dan McKie - Wobblegong

If there’s one thing Ibiza clubbers love its a tubular-sounding bassline. You can actually trace the origins of this type of bassline as far back Booka Shade’s earlier work during their ‘Movements’ era, then there’s more modern-sounding versions like ‘Walking With Elephants’, which is actually just a complete crib of Gregor Tresher’s ‘A Thousand Nights’.

Anyway, it’s a surefire way to craft a big-sounding track — and that’s exactly what Dan McKie has done with his latest track, the brilliantly titled ‘Wobblegong’.

Sure, it’s been done a thousand times before, but if isn’t broke why fix it? Anyway, McKie’s ‘Wobblegong’ has everything you’d need to turn a room full of strangers into a room full of sweaty strangers with smiles on their faces.

Anywho, now that playing ‘Walking With Elephants’ is career suicide (and quite rightly so) McKie’s alternative will have the exact same effect without you lining the pockets of satan.

A win-win in our book.
