Armand van Helden and dutch duo ANOTR join forces for a remake of van Helden’s breakout classic ‘Funk Phenomena’.

Now I know what you’re thinking — why would anyone want to remake a track so cherished as Helden’s ‘The Funk Phenomena’.

Well, we agree. The original is nigh on perfect, granted, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be successfully flipped into, say, a sweaty warehouse tech-house cut.

And that’s exactly what dutch duo ANOTR — alongside the careful tutelage of Van Helden — have done. They’ve added in some much-need low-end grunt, fattened up the kicks to podgy proportions and generally given their version a bit of 21st century laditude, if you will.
