Alex Fakefox blends deep house with grime atmospherics on ‘The Door’

Until today we we’re really sure that grime (sans the vocals) and deep house could go together — well we were wrong. That’s exactly what you get with Alex FakeFox’s latest ‘The Door’, which he is kindly giving away for free.

The track’s ever-changing basslines are the real show-stopper here; they’re grime-y, and grime-influenced — and when they really kick in you get this feeling that the track is hankering to actually go full grime, but it never actually does.

The track’s slightly lo-f-ish melodies are also really cool, too, as they give the track an unusual timbre compared to your average bass house cookie cutter.

Alex Fakefox will be someone we’ll be keeping an ear out for and you should too.
