One of the many bugbears of streaming services – and there’s lots – is the lack of high quality audio streams.

Well, Deezer has launched a new version of its streaming service Deezer Elite worldwide today with the promise of 35 million FLAC-quality songs to stream.

There is one catch though – and it’s quite a big one – at the moment it’s only available to users of Sonos soundsystems.

Essentially, FLAC is one the highest quality audio codecs around, coming in at 5 times the bitrate: 1,411 kbps vs. 320 kbps.

Price-wise, it’s not completely unreasonable either, a monthly subscription is £14.99 per month for 12 months, or £120 per year if you choose to pay up-front.

At the moment the service is available in Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific and Canada. And by the end of the year Deezer is promising the high definition service will be available in over 150 countries.
