Having caused a bit of a stir this weekend in New York and London – when blimps and graffiti were spotted with the Aphex Twin logo – Aphex Twin has seemingly just announced his new album via the dark web.
The producer tweeted a link today ending with the prefix .onion, the same prefix used on TOR, which is used to gain access to the dark web. Once you click through you’re confronted with the same logo from the weekend, and some info about the album styled as a pirate-friendly .nfo file.
There’s no date but assuming this isn’t a clever ruse there is a new Aphex Twin album, called ‘Syro’, coming out soon, some thirteen years since his last studio album.
Quick tip: if you replace the .onion with .com you’ll be able to see the message for yourself.
