Belgium disco producer ATTAR! was a real breakout success last year after he parted ways with Andy Faisca who made up disco duo Mustang.

Much like any Belgium breakup both artists have gone on to plenty of individual success and seemingly vindicated their decision to split, with ATTAR! recently announcing he’d signed to Eskimo Records, which is the home of Aeroplane.

You can really see why Eskimo were keen to sign him up once you’ve heard his latest remix for New York’s Chrome Canyon and his track ‘Memories of A Scientist’.

The remix is quite a departure from ATTAR!’s usual four-four house productions, but thankfully today’s shift is in the direction of 70s cinematic French disco, tinged with darker italo strokes and even a bit of electro-clash. It basically sounds like Moroder vs the Droids – which is never a bad thing.

It’s easily his finest work to date and already a contender for remix of the year for us.

The remix is available on the Chrome Canyon’s remix album “Elemental remixes”.

Out on Stones Throw Records.
