Delphic are finally ready to unveil the first piece of new material from their, as yet unnamed, second album – ‘Good Life’ was actually on the short-list for the new Olympics song but narrowly missed out to some band called Muse.

Showcasing a slightly re-jigged sound the new album has been produced by DFA’s Tim Goldsworthy and see’s the Manc trio endeavour to create an even more complex tapestry of influences.

Thankfully, like their classics from ‘Acolyte,’ ‘Good Life’ is full of rapturous chorus’, rasping synths which complement the vocals rather than overpower them. And especially good is the electrifying breakdown, which see’s lead singer James Cook really go for it for a galvanising finale.

Out July 23.
