Lana Del Rey is being tipped as a “gangster Nancy Sinatra” her stylised fifties pinup persona has been getting some bloggers, from across the pond, up in arms as they seem to resent that fact that she has changed her image to achieve this fleeting success. Regardless whether she’s the product of cool/hipster viral-ness or the product of clever marketing it makes little or no difference to us. We judge the music not the person. Well, except for Skrillex, of course.
What we do know is our good friends Club Clique have been lined up to do the obiquitous blogger-friendly remix. So, step forward two likely lads from Manchester to strip the whole thing back, and rebuild it with a eye, and ear, on the Clique dancefloor; you can expect to find chatty clicks, gleaming strings and and plenty of pop magic.
Here’s what they had to say about the track: “The second we heard this song we fell in love. We knew instantly that it needed to be stripped down and rebuilt for the Club Clique dancefloor with fingerclicks, disco strings and glittering pop magic.
“We’re proud to be the only remixers to work on both sides of Lana’s upcoming double A-side – we’ll be releasing our explosive remix of ‘Blue Jeans’ very soon.”
(Lana is playing her first ever UK gig in Club Clique’s hometown of Manchester on November 4th. The perfect choice of city for next year’s biggest pop icon to launch herself!)
