It’s almost September which means the summer is almost over and the music world suddenly bursts into life with loads of amazing new music.
Well we’ve quite a treat for you from the cool people behind new Parisian label La Belle. Those of you who haven’t been paying attention they are the label that brought us the return of the Supermen Lovers and now they have piece of disco from llya Santana – if this disco release was food it would be the finest lobster money can buy.
The release is some of the classiest disco we’ve heard in long time, if just so effortlessly smooth and enchanting and is already getting support from Mustang, The Magician, Jerry Bouthier and Thomas Barford.
Ilya Santana Hails from the beautiful Canary islands, this nu-disco gentleman/theorist goes on looking for the brightest spark, the deepest vibration for unifying the three elements of body, mind and soul.
His adventure in the depths of the parallel lines between bass and inner happiness started 20 years ago. His first mental destination are his father’s records: we can almost envisage a really young Ilya listening to Alan Parson, Vangelis, Giorgio Moroder with his white headphones. Those artists will be both his plane ticket and his treasure map. His starting point and his landmark. His home and his destinations.
The first track you get to sample is merely an aperitif, something to wet your whistle – ‘Infamous Lovers’ starts with chattery synths, slick guitars and an air mysticalness. It draws you in like a warm breeze on summers night. Don’t take our waffle for granted listen to it yourself and download it as a free gift.

Next up, we the unashamedly 80’s ‘Involution’ which is a warm trip down memory lane with appegiated synths, tight percussion and serene strings. Just lovely.
