The amazing Volpin Props is doing something quite special today, as you may already know, Volpin Props became an internet sensation last year when he posted a video of him making a replica of the infamous Daft Punk helmet worn by Guy Manuel De Homem Christo from Daft Punk’s infamous Alive 2007 tour.

Well, Volpin has a new website, and to celebrate this fact, and because he’s so cool, he’s doing a sweepstake to win a helmet, all you have to do win this amazing piece of memorabilia is answer a small questionnaire to be entered into the draw.

We’ve already entered and we thought that you’d like to enter too.

Here’s what he had to say: “I have 2 molds that have produced quite a few test helmets in the process of getting the chassis right for the lighting rigs. This encompasses both Thomas and Guy Manuel replicas.

“Historically, I have continually denied the sale of these pieces due to the problems of mass sales, build complexity, and a multitude of other issues. That being said, my studio is getting overrun with spare castings of the little buckets, so I’ve decided to simultaneously meet three demands:

“Getting rid of the multiple Daft Punk helmets crowding my already small workshop.

“Promoting the launch of my new website, www.volpinprops.net.

“Meet at least a portion of the demand I see every day from people who are looking to have their own Daft Punk helmets created.

“I currently have 8 helmets ready for visors and chroming that will be available to people who visit my new website on launch day and fill out a short survey (mostly regarding how they got to my site.) These helmets, unlike my initial castings sold earlier, will be final pieces with chrome and installed visors. No illumination, unfortunately, but the volume of production will mean that the chroming process will be less expensive for the multiple pieces being produced for the 8 eventual clients.

“This isn’t something I’m likely to repeat anytime soon, so once they’re gone, they’re gone. Best of luck everyone and thanks for following my work and supporting the things I do”

So there you have, get yourself over to his website and good luck, and if you win take a picture and send it to us. We’d love to know who the lucky 8 are.
