20-minute-wonder-

We decided we would do another mixtape and take on the goliath by making it last longer than 20 minutes – we decided to call it: Electro Bread.

We hope you enjoy it. There’s no tracklisting, because we forgotten it. Hahaha. But off the top of our head it features: Show Your Shoe, Adele, Villa, Tyson, Reset, Yuksek, Air, Breakbot, Feed Me, Vandroid, Labyrinth Ear and probably some other things.

Electro Bread – Mixed by Mr H.B.F

From one manc to another, that’s a pretty bad mix mate, surely running a blog like this, which i read a lot, deserves a lot better? And yes, i can do better. Maybe i should help out if needed with mixes etc? I’d be happy to oblige.

Geez don’t hold back. Whats wrong with it ? The mixes are in time, and in phase – yeah you might not like the tracks but the mix isn’t that bad at all. If you can come back with something constructive, I’d listen but not if its just to criticise for the sake of it.

They are not an easy selection of tracks to mix – if I wanted to do a easy peasy house mix I could – probably with my eyes closed – this took time and patience.

I think I have been listening and watching DJ’s for over 10 years to know when a mix is bad – and this is not – I await your retort…..

Im not a DJ but like making mixes. And for me if the tracks mix well and are in time thats what really matters.

Thanks Edu, nice to hear some people have some taste :) Love you mix btw,

Perhaps Morgan would like to send a mix in to HBF so other readers can judge?

    LOL with this fight

Hey guys, sorry if that sounded bad. nothing wrong with the music, just programming. I realise you may be a writer and not a dj. But i would have thought that a popular blog like this would put something a bit more polished out. I didn’t want to post a link to my mix as if i was promoting myself, i’m most certainly not, but i like to think i put together a few nice mixes. Go ahead and listen here

    or at older mixes here

Sorry if i came across as a dick, didn’t mean to offend anyone.
Like i say, get in touch if you need any help, i’m a manc lad and into the site and music.

hahahahaha no worries dude, it was just a bit of comedy banter and I thought your critique a little unfair and harsh – no harm done really – thanks for the apology I fully accept – i will listen to your mix and let you know what you think.

Cheers mate, glad you didn’t take offence ;-) No point arguing over the internet now is there?

  • Anonymous

No at all – we don’t like to criticise on HBF hence why you’ll never see a bad review – waste of our time and the artists – listening to your mix at the moment – like it – some nice leftfield influences going on. the music not the act. What did you do it on? Mine would have been a little bit cleaner programming but didn’t save it so could go back and tweak some of the gains etc.

  • Morgan

Well it’s a bit of a different mix, hence the name. on my site there are some proper disco type mixes. I’ve been using ableton for a few years now, but started on decks about 20 years ago.
the sound should be nice and clear, i try to only use flac or wav samples and i uploaded it in full quality too, bit anal like that. Like i say, i would help you out if needed, i’m going back to college in september to do a course in music and production so hope to get into the industry at some point. I know a few guys around town but i’m not interested in djing for a living, want to be a studio geek.

  • Morgan

oh, there is no post editing in the mix, all one sweep.

  • Anonymous

Sadly I used a range of different quality Mp3′s hence the levels not being totally sweet – I don’t DJ so probably wouldn’t buy decks – just like having a mix on Ableton or Traktor with a midi controller. And if you make a mistake you can go and edit it – such a time-saving function – where you doing your course SRR ? I know many people who do production courses – many logics geeks. I have no patience for that :)

Not going SSR, went there a few years ago when it was on ten street. I didnt think it was up to scratch then, maybe it’s changed since the move?
I’m going to manchester metropolitan then maybe do a further 3 years and get a degree, who knows!.
Want to be a sound engineer, i’m really snobby about sound quality and stuff, love to be in film or something doing sound production. you have my email if you need any help anyway, i’ll always do what i can if you decide you can use me.

  • Morgan

I meant ten bar on tariff street, old place of SSR.

  • Kathi

Good stuff, as always! pity you lost the tracklisting this time.
sooooo… is there anyone who can tell me the artist around min 13:00 pretty please? Oh and around min 30:00 too (sounds like Mord Fustang but I’m not sure) … desperately need to know. THX!!!! =)
