If you have ever been to Manchester’s ludicrously good Drum & Bass night Religion you will have probably come across this DnB collective Altered State who have been on rich vein of form with the no-nonsense production of hardcore DnB.

Comprising of OneWay, Far East and Reaction they have been at the forefront of Manchester’s underground Dnb scene for a while now, but they are throwing all their knowledge of experience into their productions and it is already bearing some tastey DnB fruit.

Their production has a fantastic array of styles, while their DJ sets are in your face high-energy salvos – so expect to hear tight beats layered with squelchy bad-ass bass.

The first track is ‘Rush Hour’ a hospital-esque groove, with a sublime urban vocal and short-sharp snappy-beats.

The next track is ‘Step Off” a well executed, stripped-back minimal number – a spooky bass-line coupled with  metal beats combine to great effect.

We will have more Altered State soon. Watch this space.
