Yesterday saw the launched of Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic the worlds’s first commercial spaceship with Above & Beyond on hand to get everyone in the mood for the final frontier.
Above & Beyond’s Jono Grant played a short DJ set and used thier track Buzz during the big unveiling (which just so happens to have a sample of Buzz Aldrin’s moon landing speech. I wonder why they used that then).
After the official unveiling and shameless use of Aldrin, a Schwarznegger Branson sandwich insued that looked like a Total Recall spoof, then Above & Beyond’s Jono Grant played a DJ set to the 800 dignitaries, celebs and Astonauts.
Jono Grant and Richard Branson (what’s that coming out of Jono’s head)
Jono Grant said he was really excited to be there and confessed his love all things spacey “We’re big fans of all things space-related” whilst being pictured with Branson, Jono added: “We’re now hoping to persuade Richard to let us DJ on the first Virgin Galatic passenger flight in space!”
The current cost of a trip to space will set you back $200,000 but if the idea takes off, I have no doubt Stelios Haji-Ioannou will be doing Easy Space for a tenna.
What this space. (no pun intended)
