It looks like the final nail in the coffin for vinyl with the announcement that Panasonic have decided to stop production of their famous 1210 turntables.
Panasonic spokesman Ian North said in a press release, “It is a sad day today, but due to low sales globally in analogue turntables a decision to stop production has been made on Technics Turntables.”
They’ve sold over 3 million units since launching in 1972 and revolutionising the art of DJing. Production will halt in February 2010, so if you want a fresh pair, get’em in now.
